    Just looks like a bug to me. Does it take you to lvl 8 or just 500xp?
    That should show that either is the description is wrong or implementation is wrong. Either way bug report it.

    Stones ( and Gems ) are not restricted by the almost two levels banking system.
    As such a Gem can level you beyond the two level limit.

    Now It still seems weird, what happened when you actually used the Gem ?
