I realise this is more or less the same as a couple years ago and I thought I was going to stay pure ranger for a while when I did that this summer, but this is what I enjoy; a tanky AoE Paladin so I just went back to this.
Since I obviously only have a subjective view of how things play, how does this actually work in raids we’ve been doing lately?
These feats are changing, but don’t know to what. Could do Quicken and Empower Heal for Cocoon?
12 : Exotic Weapon: Khopesh
18 : Stunning BlowBeen twisting this for raids, better options? In particular I think Ephemeral Evo is not that useful
1. Echoes of Martial (Tier 4 Fatesinger)
2. Endless Lay On Hands (Tier 3 Sentinel)
3. Dance of Flowers (Tier 1 Flowers)
4. Ephemeral Evolution (Tier 1 Primal)
5. Unearthly Reactions (Tier 1 Magister)Some key stats
~300 PRR, 141 MRR, 15 Dodge, ~2k HP (effective HP: ~20k), ~110 Dire DC, ~250MP

December 3, 2019 at 12:28 pm #14415PalnaMemberGear layout. Would like to get Piston Boots and raid neckie, but would need a pretty big change to other items. Not worked that out yet.

December 3, 2019 at 3:26 pm #14416LegendMemberHi
Can get rid of both feats Khopesh and Stunning Blow imo
Quicken is nice
Would be interesting to see new breakdown of combat stats and effective hp as you will have less dodge but lot more prr/mrr, also doublestrike, MP etc…
Would also try and fit in a lesser displace item, could not see one.
December 3, 2019 at 7:00 pm #14418PalnaMemberYeah, I couldn’t fit in Legendary Celestial Topaz Ring without making Dire Charge useless with my other gear options. I have some Displacement clickies (should probably make more) and they make up my concealment defense. I could remake a slavers item with Sheltering, <Something>, Stunning and Q. Str, but it’s probably better to try to work in the raid items?
Khopesh and Stunning Blow are both on the way out, I like them for leveling though which is why they are in. A bit unsure about using two feats for Cocoon though, since I have normally 4 Healing Hands and 4 LoH, more when I twist Endless LoH. What other options are there?
Btw, I’ve used the 6 AP in Vistani for only for Deflect Arrows really and wondering if that’s worth the investment? Could get regeneratin HH from Aasimar tree and a little more from Tempest or Defender tree…
Will try and get my selfbuffed stats later.

On build: I usually take quicken if i plan to keep in healing spells, esspecially on coccoon. For a melee its usefull as it bypasses concentration checks. Emp Heal is useless imho as it only gives 75 pos power, on the 600-1000 you can get it’s not that much. LoH to top ‘m off and a coccoon to keep ‘m topped is usually enough.
Dropping stunning, i assume because dire charge is enough CC usually and its breaks the rotation. Not sure what to take instead really, completionist would be ideal, other than that you could go for brutal crits or another dps increase like specialisation or focus?
Deflect arrows is usefull in THTH with the skulls, but as we got the raid pretty much down and only wipe on lag, and your defenses are high end anyway, i don’t see why you shouldn’t try some other things. I dont think you’ll be worse off.
On twists: You talk about coccoon but its not in there 😛 I usually just use my dps twists in raids and dont swap to much out, unless i need change my role to tanking.
On Gear: thats actually very close to what i am using on my wolf. I’m looking at Legendary Spectre Boots and Legendary Cloak of Balance to spice it up a bit, just dont know how yet…
Ps: maybe Jan can activate visual editing in BBPress
December 4, 2019 at 9:21 am #14427SinaefayMemberYour cure serious wounds will get alot of oomph from empower healing, and is a good followup to a cocoon.
I use LoH as a backup/long range healing when I play my paladin, as he’s using epic defensive fighting. For close range healing, having access to cocoon and CSW is very helpful, especially if you are in divine crusader and your consecration is on cooldown.
December 4, 2019 at 2:09 pm #14428HeallionaMemberDPS expert have ansewered better that I can but here is something that is emphasys: Ant heal is always welcome in a quest after R7 / 8.
Maybe you will lose some DPS but if at the end you are not top kill count but due to your lay or cocoon the party succeed the goal is reached for the party: Being able to run a quest at H reaper.
Sébastien.
December 4, 2019 at 9:25 pm #14429PalnaMemberAdded some screenshots of stats on first post, thx Sthx. Those are in Reaper, with my measly 28 reaper points 🙂
About Quicken+Empower Heal, I don’t use Cocoon atm since using EDF the range is not good, casting is slow without quicken and I haven’t put much effort into healing SP so I’ve tried to rely on regenerating LoH. I like this for raids as it’s not limited by EDF. I just couldn’t think of anything better to do with the twist and feats. I also don’t have room for CSW since I only use 14 paladin levels.
Stunning Blow, I can’t get to reliable levels in legendary content and single target; I instead use Dire Charge, DoD and follow with Exposing Strike after DC times out. That’s usually enough CC when I manage to time it properly…
Sthx, what DPS twists do you use?
December 5, 2019 at 8:32 am #14433SthaxMemberin LD
1 T4: Symmetric Strike / Sense weakness for total of 80% helpless dmg
2 T3: Balanced Attacks for trip and some attack dmg / Meld for high reaper
3 T1: Dance of Flowers
4 T1: Primal Scream / in fury i take the extra boosts from LD
5 T1: coccoon / energy sheath / unearthly reactionsDecember 5, 2019 at 11:32 am #14435LegendMemberPlease post stats out of reaper with no displace, this give true picture of build.
But use any boosts such as Divine Might as this is pretty much your perm strength.
December 5, 2019 at 12:33 pm #14436SinaefayMemberAh yeah, I forgot that had ranger levels. In that case, LoH is your best bet to healing others.
Re: your enhancements, why not take Tendon Cut III and Favored Defense II instead of stealthy and increased empathy?
